Seventh Sunday after Pentecost Track 1

Sunday July 8 The Seventh Sunday after Pentecost Track 1

Greetings:

I am back hopefully for the rest of the liturgical year. Travel took me away from home and my recording “studio” for several weeks and then we had to move as well so life is just now beginning to return to what is known as “normal” in our household. Later this year we will again have to pack up and move but hopefully that will be much more organized and orderly. Thank you for returning or welcome if this is your first visit.

The Collect: O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Old Testament: 2 Samuel 5:1-5, 9-10 read from the Revised Standard Version Bible

Psalm 48 read from The Episcopal Church Book of Common Prayer

The Epistle: 2 Corinthians 12:2-10 read from the God’s Word Bible

The Gospel: Mark 6:1-13 read from the Holman Christian Standard Bible

Closing Prayer: On July 12 we celebrate the life of Nathan Sӧderblom, Archbishop of Uppsala & architect of the ecumenical movement of the twentieth century. Read from A Great Cloud of Witnesses.
